Raveena Tandon turns down offer to play Ranveer Singh’s mother

The likes of Madhuri Dixit and Raveena Tandon have refused to play Ranveer Singh’s mother in Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Dil Dhadakane Do’.

According to Mumbai Mirror, Tandon was approached for the character after Dixit refused. Apparently, Tandon was not keen to play the role of an aging mother in the film.

After refusing the role, Akhtar approached Shefali Shah and she agreed. Anil Kapoor will essay the role of their father. Shah has no inhibitions in playing the role as she has done it before. She gladly decided to play the role of Singh and Chopra’s mother. The movie will also see Anushka Sharma in a critical character.

The movie will be shot across Europe, Turkey, Spain, Italy and France.

The film is expected to release in June 2015.
