The task of depicting the prominent political figure, renowned female icon, Oxford University alumna and 11th Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto, will be no easy walk in the park. Earlier reports suggested that Vidya Balan had been approached by producers to essay the role of the assassinated politician but since then, as per grapevine, the reigning 90’s queen of Bollywood, Raveena Tandon has bagged the part.

Although the makers have not got the requisite nod from Pakistani authoritiesfor the go-ahead of producing the movie , a reliable source, according to Absolute India, suggests work on the biopic is already underway as Tandon is likely to visit the UK soon for the look test of the film. The source revealed, “Raveena [Tandon] has liked the script and has shown interest in the film. However, the whole unit of the film is waiting for the required nod from the Pakistani authorities. Despite all this, the preparations are in full swing. The actress, apparently, will go to the UK for a meeting with the make-up artist who is working on the film.”

The source further added, “A few looks have been worked out for Raveena. She will try them and see what suits the role best. The actress most probably will fly down to the US in the month of April or May”.

Tandon remained unavailable for comment, but if the news is true, we are audiencescannot wait for this one to hit big screen.
