Bollywood directors and writers have been successfully exploring the idea of bio-pics for a few years now. The stories are attracting more audiences day by day, opening a bigger opportunity to experiment with the genre. Rumor has it that the latest bio-pic to be made will be on the magnetic life of Pakistani leader Benazir Bhutto. Actress Raveena Tandon has been approached to portray the late Bhutto.

Tandon who is known to have a strong intellect liked the narration and expressed her desire to play the role. According to Pinkvilla, a source has said, “A couple of days ago Raveena had a meeting with the scriptwriter and he narrated the subject to her. She read the script and liked it too. It is a powerful character and she is keen to take it up.”

The story has moved Tandon to the extent of her also expressing the desire to produce the bio-pic as well. The source added, “The story is loosely based on Bhutto’s life. Raveena has suggested some changes in the script and once they are accommodated, the actress will jump aboard.”

Tandon has enacted some hard hitting roles in the films ‘Aks’ (2001) and ‘Satta’ (2003). She was last seen as the host of ‘Simply Baatein with Raveena,’ on the then newly launched channel, Sony Pal. Some other actors who have received much acclaim from their bio-pic portrayals are Farhan Akhtar for ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ (2013) and Priyanka Chopra for ‘Mary Kom’ (2014).
