News recently did the rounds that actress Raveena Tandon was set to take the plunge into politics. However the actress has revealed that she isn’t going down that route just yet.

“I’ve been offered a seat in Lokh Sabha And Rajya Sabha by various parties. It’s an honour and privilege to play an active role in national politics. But currently, I’m busy with various projects. Now isn’t the right time for me to venture into politics. Whenever I decide to do so, I want to give it my 100 per cent,”Times of India reported Tandon explaining.

Talking about what she’s currently doing, Tandon will soon be seen on the small screen in on India’s new dance shows called ‘Shine On India’. She will be sharing the judging seat with Govinda and Saroj Khan. Talking about working with Govinda again, who she has shared many hits with, the actress went onto add, “Govinda and I would compete with each other and it would bring out the best in us. After hits like ‘Dulhe Raja’ (1998) and ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ (1998), this will be a good opportunity for us to reminisce about our work.”

At the same time, Tandon will be working for the big screens in two projects. One will be directed by Onir titled ‘Shab’ and the second will be a social film titled ‘Matr’.

‘Shab’ is an emotional story in which I play a high-society woman who is in a relationship with a younger man,” she explained when talking about Onir’s project. She also spoke of ‘Matr’, “The script gives a sense of gratification as it shows how you can deal with criminals indulging in crime against women, while remaining on the right side of the law. As a society we need to change our laws to protect women.”
