Rav Singh to leave News of the World

Britain’s favourite gossiper, Rav Singh will be leaving News of the World to go freelance.

To the dismay of his dedicated readers; he will no longer be delving into the glitzy world of Hollywood.

Rav keeping tabs on all the stars will certainly be missed, as The News of the World editor, Colin Myler, said: “Rav has been an outstanding showbiz editor. He set the bar for others to follow.”

Following in his footsteps and hoping to follow the moves of stars, Singh’s column will be taken over by TV editor Dan Wootton, who joined the Sunday red-top 18 months ago. The new column will launch in November.

Rav Singh has gained a string of achievements throughout his career. Back in 2004, he won showbusiness reporter of the year at the British Press Awards.

Impressively, he has had 52 front-page splashes during his eight years at the paper. He will continue to contribute stories as a freelance.

He said: “I have had the best years of my life working at the News of the World but all great things come to an end.
“I am keen to try something new and I have big plans which I can’t wait to get working on.”
