Rasika Dugal joins BBC Radio 2 series ‘The Empire’

Rasika Dugal is proving quite a popular choice for many filmmakers and it seems she’s also on the radar of international projects too. BizAsiaLive.com can confirm that the actress has joined BBC Radio 2 audio series ‘The Empire’.

Comedy screenwriter Anubhav Pal has written the series which is being directed by Ed Morrish. Dugal said in a statement, “Anuvab Pal’s script had me in splits when I read it. I had come off a three-month-long shoot for an intense drama series and comedy is just what I needed”.

The story of the series is of imperial India and is about a new magistrate who is coming to grips with his new role. Veteran Stephen Fry, ‘Doctor Who’ actor Michelle Gomez and actor-writer Alexander Owen of ‘Midsomer Murders’ fame will also feature in the series which is scheduled for release on Sunday.
