Rapper Divine takes no credit for Ranveer Singh’s smooth rap delivery

With the teaser trailer taking the nation by storm, it seems Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ will be the one to look out for. The teaser showcasing Singh rapping through the whole thing, had impressed so many simply by Singh’s effortless delivery, and it’s something real life rapper Divine who Singh has been training with is taking no credit for.

With the film loosely based on the lives of Divine and rapper Naezy, according to Times of India, the actor had gone to both, to do his own bit of research. Apparently, where Divine had been there during Singh’s recordings, he had nothing to do with the style and pace of the rap, which the actor picked up on his own.

The report goes on to add how Divine has also approved of Singh’s attire and overall look in the film. Depicting a boy from the slums, who dreams of making it as an artist.

Also starring Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin, ‘Gully Boy’ is scheduled to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.
