Ranveer Singh’s ’83’ to be his first trilingual

Ranveer Singh’s upcoming sports drama ’83’ will reportedly release in three different languages, making it his first trilingual film.

The film, which will see Singh star as cricketer Kapil Dev, the former India captain, will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. As well as it being Singh’s trilingual, it will also be director, Kabir Khan’s first.

A source told DNA India, “Our heroic win in the 1983 World Cup is a historical event in Post-Independence India. Considering that cricket and movies are akin to religion in the country, and are bound to resonate with audiences across ages and strata, the film’s producers have decided to shoot for the Tamil and Telugu versions simultaneously.”

’83’ releases in April 2020.
