Ranveer Singh was first choice for Sam Maneksaw biopic?

A few weeks ago, it was revealed that Vicky Kaushal has been signed for Meghna Gulzar’s next, a biopic on Field Marshal Sam Maneksaw.

Gulzar’s last release ‘Chhapaak’ starring Deepika Padukone, proved a mediocre success at the box office. Interestingly, Gulzar was keen to work with Padukone’s husband Ranveer Singh for the upcoming biopic but had reportedly delayed the script narration a number of times, according to The Asian Age.

A source informs, “After getting along so well with Deepika while making Chhapaak and getting such an amazing performance out of her, Meghna is having second thoughts about the casting of the Manekshaw biopic. We can only wait and watch.”
