Ranveer Singh to go bald for ‘Bajirao Mastani’?

After rumours of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan being linked to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much delayed project ‘Bajirao Mastani’, Ranveer Singh has become the frontrunner to bag the lead in the film.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, “Sanjay has been in talks with Ranveer and unless there’s some last-minute hitch, it’s almost certain that he’ll be playing Bajirao.”

Not only that, Singh is expected to go under the chop to get into the skin of the character. He is expected to devote a whole year to the project. The source added, “Ten months for the shoot and a month for promotions. And Sanjay wants his hero to shave off his hair, except for a little choti or shikha (braid) that pundits sport on their bald pates. This would mean that the actor will have to clear his calendar before taking up the project.”

Singh confirmed that he was in advanced talks for the film. A female lead is yet to be announced, with Deepika Padukone looking likely to play the Mastani in the film – similar to ‘Ram-Leela’.
