Last month, Ranveer Singh issued an apology when a Jack & Jones ad he featured in got much flak from the industry and public for being sexist. Now, it seems the actor might end up in legal trouble because of it.
Jack & Jones removed the ad campaign completely following the response it received. However, lawyer Gaurav Gulati has filed a complaint against the actor and the brand and requested the National Commission for Women (NCW) to issue a notice. Gulati is quoted by Hindustan Times, “I have seen an advertisement hoarding of Jack & Jones company on social media and some online news reports in which famous Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh could be seen posing slinging a woman on his shoulder, suggesting that women are nothing more than objects”.
Singh had apologised for hurting sentiments saying “We got it wrong” in a statement.
