Ranveer Singh: “SRK still meets me the same way as when I was a newcomer”

Ranveer Singh is soon to be directed by Aditya Chopra who has only ever directed Shah Rukh Khan before. Much was made of Singh’s film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ clashing with Khan’s ‘Dilwale’ last month but it seems the former is nothing but praise for the King.

Talking of comparisons that people make between him and Khan, Singh told the New Indian Express, “SRK has so much depth and range as an actor. Whatever we have seen of Mr Khan is just the tip of the iceberg. I said this recently about Kareena too ��� she is so talented. They are actors and hence they are stars. They can connect to people�۪s hearts and that is why they are stars. It is just unfortunate that our films came on the same day; the comparisons are inevitably drawn. But there is no comparison. There has never been anyone like him. He has achieved greatness. I have worked for five years; he has worked for 25 years. He has done five times the amount of work I have done”.

He continued, speaking of meeting Khan, “I was hanging out with him the other day…��He is still so humble and grounded. He still meets me the same way he met me when I was a newcomer, with equal amounts of love and warmth. We don�۪t discuss films or performances. We talk random rubbish which I can�۪t reveal… He is hilarious and fun to hang out with.”

Singh will start shooting for Chopra’s ‘Befikre’ soon. The film will see him opposite Vaani Kapoor.
