Ranveer Singh: “Shah Rukh Khan is a living legend”

Ranveer Singh’s rise in less than a decade has often been compared to Shah Rukh Khan’s. However, the actor, when quizzed about this, said there’s no comparison.

“From my very first film, people have been drawing comparisons to Shah Rukh Khan. I don’t believe there’s any basis for that. Shah Rukh Khan is a living legend. He has achieved so much, he has contributed so much to Hindi cinema. He’s a game changer in so many ways. Every actor is unique. Every journey is different. It’s unfair to compare artistes,” said Singh, in a recent interview with Filmfare.

Talking about the price he feels he’s paid for stardom, the actor replies, “Certain instances can agitate you. The lack and invasion of privacy being one. False media reportage can also leave you disturbed. Sometimes people just cook up stories. They don’t realise that it could affect a human being profoundly. That it’s bad karma. Mobile phones are adding to the nuisance. They don’t even ask you for a picture. It’s bad manners. They take pictures and videos even when you’re eating or when you are in the washroom.”

Singh will be seen next in ‘Gully Boy’, ‘Simmba’ and ’83’.
