Ranveer Singh hikes his fees after ‘Padmaavat’ success

After playing a terrific villain as Alauddin Khilji in ‘Padmaavat’ (2018), Ranveer Singh has received immense praise and recognition for his performance in the film, so it was probably only a matter of time that Singh would consider hiking his fees.

According to DNA India, since ‘Padmaavat’ has been smashing the takings at the box office, as well as making it into the Rs 200 crore club, it has been reported that Singh has raised his fees to Rs 13 crore. This now makes him level with rumoured girlfriend, Deepika Padukone.

A trade source explains, “Hikes are the order of the day when you deliver a box office hit. Ranveer will command this price now. Had this film released all over India, his asking price would have been bigger too. As for Deepika, she charged the price since she allotted lot more days for the film, as compared to a movie that otherwise takes only 60 days of shoot. Her price for other films as Rs 13 crore now after Padmaavat stands vindicated too.”

Singh is now working on his next film ‘Gully Boy’, which is directed by Zoya Akthar and co-stars Alia Bhatt. The film is slated to release on 14th February 2019.
