Ranveer Singh feels Deepika Padukone is perfect for ‘Leela’

After much ado, Sanjay Leela Bhansali settled for Deepika Padukone as his Gujarati��Juliet in the forthcoming ‘Ram Leela’ which stars Ranveer Singh as male lead. Singh has gone on record to give approval to SLB’s choice, stating that Padukone could not be more perfect for the character.

As reported by Hindustan Times, the actor said, “She definitely looks the part better than anyone else. When Bhansali sir and I started working on the film a few months ago, we browsed through lots of books on rural Gujarat.�� He would often point to pictures of traditional Gujarati girls and say, ��This is what Leela looks like�۪. They are slender, dusky and have sharp features”.

He continues to comment about his co-star, “It will be exciting to see her in a new avatar because she has mostly played urban roles. Having worked in half-a-dozen films, she has grown in leaps and bounds as an actor”.

Singh also spoke about rumours of a cosy bond between Padukone and himself, as reports have stated lately. “I don�۪t know Deepika very well. But we�۪ll be shooting an intense love story over the next one year, so it would help the film if we got to know each other better. We�۪re just trying to do that,” Singh candidly stated.
