One of the ceremonies that has been shown time and again in Bollywood films is the sangeet night and the audiences have loved it every time. In the film ‘Mujhse Dosti Karoge!’ (2002) the characters have a sangeet night where they sing and dance to a medley of Bollywood classics. It was an enjoyable segment of the film and had it been real life it would have been a fun night.
As Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s wedding approaches BizAsiaLive.com decided to create a sangeet medley which would be performed on by various Bollywood celebrities.
Taaron Ka Chamakta from ‘Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam’ (2002)
Shah Rukh Khan was Padukone’s first hero in her debut film ‘Om Shanti Om (2007) therefore it would be great to have this actor bless this jodi with this wonderful song. Also it is known how much Singh admires Khan so to be blessed by him it would be a special moment for them both.
Maahi Ve from ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ (2003)
Another actor that Padukone has a superb on screen chemistry with is Saif Ali Khan. It would be unforgettable seeing both Khans dancing on this number however this time they would be dancing with Padukone. This is a combination that has never been seen before so at the sangeet it would be fascinating to see.
Title Track from ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ (1997)
After seeing the close bond between Singh and Akshay Kumar in season 6’s episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’ it would be wrong not to have Kumar perform on this song for the couple. For the female segment perhaps Parineeti Chopra would fit in perfectly as she has worked with Singh in a number of films including her debut film ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ in 2011.
Bole Chudiyan from ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ (2001)
Often compared to the original ‘Poo’ aka Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt would be great to perform on this song alongside Varun Dhawan. In the song Hrithik Roshan was seen with Khan therefore if there is anyone who can match his steps then that is Dhawan. Not only is he a fantastic dancer but his pairing with Bhatt is loved by all.
Saajanji Ghar Aaye from ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998)
When it comes to this song it just wouldn’t be right to have someone else perform on it. The charm that Salman Khan had as Aman in the song would be impossible to match by anyone else therefore for this song Khan would be the only one right for it. However whether he would ever perform and to the same excitement that would be something to see.
Tera Bhala Kare Bhagwan from ‘Koi Mere Dil Se Poochche’ (2002)
Once performed by Sanjay Kapoor for the wedding of Esha Deol and Aftab Shivdasani in a film, this wedding song filled with blessings would be wonderful if included. The saying a brother from another mother goes so well when it comes to Arjun Kapoor so if there’s anyone who could pull this number off, it would be him. Also as it was his uncle who performed on this song it would only be befitting if his nephew took over.
Tera Rang Balle Balle from ‘Soldier’ (1998)
Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta were in a girls vs boys situation in the song which had many hilarious moments. If there is anyone who could create that same atmosphere than that would have to be Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. Kapoor and Chopra get on so well that this song would be the right choice for them.
Cham Se Woh Aa Jaye from ‘Dus’ (2005)
Ranbir Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur have worked together in the film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ (2013) with Padukone and they were great as best buddies in the film. This was a song that had Abhishek Bachchan and Zayed Khan dancing at the engagement of Dia Mirza. In this version Kapur and Kapoor would look good together on the dance floor.
Chori Chori from ‘Garam Masala’ (2005)
Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are an iconic jodi who have worked a lot during the 90’s sometimes playing the role of best friends and at other times brothers. John Abraham was seen with Kumar and Neha Dhupia in the song but this version will see Kumar, Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan on the dance floor. They had all shook a leg on the song ‘dil dance mare’ in ‘Tashan’ (2008) which was ten years ago so what better occasion to reunite.
Yaad Piya Ki from ‘Pyaar Koi Khel Nahin’ (1999)
Mahima Chaudhary danced like a dream on this song where she is performing for an audience at a charity event. If anyone it would be Anushka Sharma who could match the charisma of Chaudhary in this song. Sharma has worked with Singh in a number of films while Padukone may not have had the chance to share screen space with the lady but she has in fact been seen at several events with her.
Makhna from ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ (1998)
Seeing Sonakshi Sinha, Sidharth Malhotra and Dhawan on this Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda and Madhuri Dixit Nene number would surely make Singh proud. Many have often compared Singh’s dancing style to that of the legendary Govinda who is regarded as one of Bollywood’s greatest dancers. Being a big fan of Govinda, Singh wouldn’t be able to control himself and would definitely join his co stars on this one.
Chunnari Chunnari from ‘Biwi No 1’ (1999)
Although it is difficult to imagine any other actors other than Sushmita Sen and Salman Khan on this song, if some other celebrities were to perform on this song then perhaps Aditi Rao Hydari and Shahid Kapoor could create their own magic on the dance floor. Both had worked together with the couple in ‘Padmaavat’ (2018) so this little tribute from their co stars would be sweet especially as Singh loves the songs of the 90’s.
Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna from ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ (1995)
No one but the original Raj could be seen creating the same magic on this song. However instead of Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan would be accompanied by Sonam Kapoor Ahuja on this one. It would be a twist but an interesting one.
Dil Chori Sada Hogaya from ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ (2018)
Putting all the youngsters to shame Anil Kapoor would be the star of this song. Kapoor has so much energy and if anyone can remember his daughter Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s wedding they will agree that he would be perfect for a song like this. Joining him on this song would be Shilpa Shetty Kundra as she is a superb dancer. Eventually this song would have all the celebrities join in one by one to perform on it ending the medley on a fun note.
Ladies and gentleman that was the sangeet medley and with this the team at BizAsiaLive.com wishes Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh all the best on this auspicious occasion.
