For 67 years Rani Mukerji’s family have been organising the Durga Puja celebrations in Mumbai. However, it seems this year the actress will be absent this time.
It is being said that the reason for her absence is that she’s not in favour of being photographed with her baby bump. Therefore, she will be avoiding the event altogether so as not to be caught by any shutterbugs.
Usually, both her and cousin Kajol serve bhog and this is part of the main attraction of the event. However, Mukerji’s spokesperson has confirmed that she will not be in Mumbai at the time of the festival.
Deb Mukerji, part of the organising committee, told Mid-Day, “Everybody is invited. The committee does not send out invitations. Rani comes every year and serves the bhog. But I am not sure if she will do it this year”.
Mukerji’s baby is due in January.
