Rani Mukerji cancels ‘India’s Next Superstars’ shoot

In the midst of promoting her much-awaited forthcoming film ‘Hichki’, Rani Mukerji was all set to make an appearance on the reality TV show ‘India’s Next Superstars’. However, the actress apparently had to cancel the shoot at the very last minute.

The show, judged by film makers Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar, is a part of the many reality shows that let celebrities promote their project. Having arrived on the day of shooting, Mukerji suddenly had a sharp pain in her back. “Rani has been in excruciating pain for the past three days. She is a thorough professional and despite her back issue she landed up on the sets of ‘India’s Next Superstar’ today. She was getting ready to shoot with her best friend Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty and that’s when she again felt a surge in pain,” DNA reported a source explaining.

They went on to add, “She couldn’t move. Her pain was excruciating again and unfortunately, she had to rush home to be attended by her doctor. We hope she gets well soon.”

Directed by Siddharth Malhotra, ‘Hichki’ marks Mukerji’s comeback after three years. Already having received a positive response after its trailer release, here’s hoping Mukerji is one her way to a fast recovery so that fans will be able to see a lot more of her promoting the film.
