‘Rangoon’ cut by 40 minutes before release

With just days to go before the release of ‘Rangoon’, Vishal Bhardwaj and his team have decided to make some further edits to the film to reduce the length by 40 minutes.

According to the Deccan Chronicle, this was done to make the film tighter after it was given certification. The film was originally 2 hours 47 minutes.

A source close to the team said, “Everyone in the team feels that Rangoon has turned out to be very special. But at nearly three hours of playing time, the film was seen to be too long for today’s generation. Vishal and his producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Viacom 18 have voluntarily decided to bring the length down by more than half an hour.”
