Rangoli Chandel takes a dig at Alia Bhatt, Ananya Panday & KJo over Filmfare Awards

Following the glamorous 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020 which took place on Saturday in Guwahati, there was much criticism towards the judging panel and award winners on the night. Rangoli Chandel in particular took to Twitter to express her feelings about it all.

Reported on Bollywood Hungama, ‘Gully Boy’ (2019) swept the boards at the event picking up 13 awards, one of which went to Bhatt for Best Actress. Kangana Ranaut’s sister tweeted, “Alia got award for her mediocre performance last year, she has a long way to go but still she was in the lead role, how do you get lead role award in a supporting role is beyond me.”

Chandel then went on to tweet that either Radhika Madan or Ankita Lokhande were more deserving of the Best Supporting Actress award and not Panday for her role in ‘Student Of The Year 2’ (2019), “Radhika Madan deserved the best debutant award not Ananya, she has opportunities known parents papa jo, at least give Radhika little encouragement, uska woh haq bhi cheen liya.”… “Ankita as Jhalkari Bai was a supreme debut magar nepo ne prove kar diya, jab tak unki gandagi saaf nahin hogi tab tak industry mein real talent ko insaaf nahin milega.”

Finally, the host of the evening, Karan Johar got a bit of backlash too, accusing him of being biased, “Arrey bhai, KJO jury hai, uske paas uski film Takht keliye investor ya paise nahin hai, market mein lekar ghoom raha hai project, koi paise nahin de raha, usko lagta hai Takht ki star cast ko awards dilwakar kuch toh paise mil jayenge.”
