Rangoli Chandel criticises Priyanka Chopra over climate change post

Environmental activist Greta Thunberg has gained a lot of global support from various celebrities, including several Bollywood stars, like Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Bhumi Pednekar. However, Rangoli Chandel wishes the same enthusiasm was shown for local environmental activists as well.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas posted her admiration for Thunberg on Twitter and Instagram, “Thank you @gretathunberg for giving us the much-needed punch in the face, for bringing your generation together and showing us that we need to know better, do more to save what is most critical. At the end of the day, we only have this one planet. #HowDareYou”

While appreciating Chopra for supporting the cause on Twitter, Chandel also criticised her for not highlighting the climate change movement in India. “Dear PC (Priyanka Chopra) nice to have u back, Yes this young woman is doing great work, magar hamare desh mein bhi bahut log tan man dhan se environment keliye kaam kar rahe hain,sirf lecture nahin de rahe results laa rahe hain… unkeliye bhi kabhi kuch payaar ke shabd bol dijiye…acha lagega (but a lot of people are working very hard for the environment in our country as well, they aren’t just giving lectures but are bringing results… say a few kind words for them also… it will be nice).”

She also slammed other Bollywood celebrities for posting about Thunberg, claiming that they are championing environmental activism only for “fashion”.
