With the huge success of ‘Highway’ (2014) still the talk of the town, actor Randeep Hooda has expressed that he wants to try his hand at other types of roles.

The Imtiaz Ali production saw Hooda play a troubled kidnapper who grows to comprehend with his victim. Much of his roles have been of very stern characters. Talking to the media NDTV��reported the actor stating, “Due to the roles I play people think I’m too serious and cranky. (Doing such roles) is very hard on you as one has to go through those emotions. It affects your life as well as the people around you.”

He went onto add, “I want to try other genres as well. I want to make people laugh. ‘Highway’��was my first attempt towards a bit of a comic role.”

Talking about his role and working with Alia Bhatt, Hooda said, “It was a hard role and I was quite depressed. Co-star Alia Bhatt had to make me smile after I did not talk to her for 35 days. She helped me in cheering up.Such things happen with roles. Whenever I see the movie, I get a little depressed.”

Hooda has a number of projects lined up, including the much awaited ‘Kick’, starring Salman Khan and��Jacqueline Fernandez. Hooda is very excited about the film and working with Khan, “Salman is a very nice person. No doubt he is a superstar. He is a great human being. ‘Kick’��is the biggest movie of my career. It’s a huge canvas. I got a integral part to play in a Salman Khan movie, that’s what an actor dreams of.”
