Randeep Hooda reveals why he skipped ‘Sarbjit’ at Cannes

Randeep Hooda - Sarbjit trailer launch 340x

While many Bollywood celebrities are often excited at the opportunity to go to the Cannes Film Festival, actor Randeep Hooda was happy to skip the event this year. Hooda’s ‘Sarbjit’ premiered at the festival and the actor reveals why he had no incentive to attend.

Speaking to Mid Day, Hooda said, “I did not want to take a risk and worsen my health. I had been advised three weeks of rest post surgery, but was unable to do so due to my commitments. Moreover, there was no incentive for me to go (to Cannes). It was not that we were invited by the festival folk or that we were in the competition section. I just did not feel like going.”

The recently released biopic, on the life of Sarbjit Singh, starred Hooda in the titular role as the protagonist. Other cast members included Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Richa Chadha, both of whom did attend the festival.
