Randeep Hooda was recently shooting for his forthcoming film ‘Yeh Laal Rang’ in a town called Rohtak, which was quite close to where he grew up in Haryana. When catching up with the media, the actor spoke candidly about his childhood and being brought up by his grandmother whilst his father was working abroad.

As reported by Mumbai Mirror, Hooda explained, “The only place where I could be free was at Jassia village where my dadi (paternal grandmother) lived. So from the time I was six, I’d take a rickshaw or follow some of the older boys to the depot, take the bus and run off to the village where I’d hide in the barn with the animals till dadi came looking for me after having got nani’s message to send me back.”

He went on to talk about how he loved to take the reins of the cart pulled by a bullock and cause mayhem on his uncle’s farm. “Once, when my youngest kaka (uncle) refused to hand them over to me, I ran through the fields with my arms spread out like a helicopter, destroying the crops till I was caught,” the actor said.

Going on Hooda stated, “But for my nani I was a handful, and when I was eight she put me in boarding school.”

Now all grown up and enjoying a growing career, Hooda did express that despite his mischievous childhood all those close to him have only great things to say about him.
