Ranbir-Priyanka to sing in front of live audience

Much has been written about Priyanka Chopra’s aspirations to be a singer, what with an international album already scheduled to release in the next couple of months. But now the actress is going that one step further, by singing live (not an easy feat by any means) with heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor at a series of concerts next month. Rumour has it that the duo will sing songs from their upcoming flick ‘Barfi!’ and that the concerts will be held at various cities across India to raise awareness for the already anticipated project directed by Anurag Basu.

“Anurag had a chat with PeeCee and asked her if she was comfortable singing in front of a live audience, the songs of his film. The actress gave it a thought and a few days later, told him she is ready to do it. A similar request was sent to Ranbir and being the sport he is, he too gave his nod to the idea,” said a source to The Times of India.

Apparently Basu wanted to go that one step further, so to make the concerts as authentic as possible, he invited composer Pritam to perform at them too.

“Anurag told Pritam it would be great if he could keep aside a day from his busy schedule to accompany the actors and give the music for their live performance. The show is scheduled for end August and will be held in various cities. Pritam took a long look at his calendar and immediately agreed,” continued the source.

Produced by UTV, ��Barfi!�۪ releases worldwide on 14th September 2012 and recounts the story of Murphy (Kapoor) ��� a deaf, mute character and his love story with an autistic girl Jhilmil (Chopra). The film also stars Telugu star Ileana D�۪Cruz as the film�۪s narrator and the other angle of the love triangle.
