When news broke out that film maker Vidhu Vinod Chopra had wanted to cast Ranveer Singh as the lead in his upcoming ‘Sanju’, there was much debate as to how it would impact Ranbir Kapoor who ended up taking on the role. However, contrary to rumours, Kapoor didn’t seemed fazed by the producer’s first option.

When asked about this, the actor was questioned as to weather he felt Chopra regretting his initial decision. “I don’t know about his regrets and anything of that kind. But I am really happy that it came into my life. And it came into my life when I was really in need of inspiration. You know. It’s a luxury that every actor finds inspiration in every film they do. This came with that. So, I am very happy that it came into my life.”

Apparently after having seen Kapoor’s transformation throughout the making of the film, Chopra quickly understood how well Kapoor depicted his role as Sanjay Dutt. In fact there had been many people that had doubted Kapoor’s talent. However ever since the first teaser, Kapoor has been receiving nothing but praise for his portrayal.

Also starring Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Manisha Koirala and Paresh Rawal, ‘Sanju’ is set to hit the big screens on 29th June.
