After shelving ‘Inshallah’, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been in talks with Alia Bhatt about a role in his other film ‘Heera Mandi’, a biopic on Gangubai Kothewali.

Now it is has been reported that Bhatt’s boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor could be joining in the film as one of the male leads. The film is based on a chapter based on Kothewali from Husain Zaidi’s novel titled Mafia Queens of Mumbai.

A source said, “SLB wants Ranbir Kapoor to play a small but important part in the project. Although the movie will be headlined by Alia, it has some really interesting male characters – some who are against her and some who help her in her trade. Bhansali and Ranbir seemed to have ironed their differences and when the Bajirao Mastani director approached RK for the role, he took out time to hear it out. But he is yet to take a final call on the same.”

Kapoor and Bhatt will also be seen in Dharma Productions’ ‘Brahmastra’, which has been delayed until summer 2020.
