Ranbir Kapoor reveals his problem with ‘Koffee with Karan’

Filmmaker Karan Johar returned this year with the new season of his celebrity chat show, ‘Koffee with Karan’ (2004). Of all the seasons since the beginning, the latest season saw celebrities being very careful about what they were saying to avoid any controversy that would lead them into trouble. Superstar Ranbir Kapoor has now revealed he was forced to appear on the show.

Kapoor appeared on the show with Ranveer Singh and he recently made a confession that he was forced to appear on the show in a podcast with the comedy group All India Bakchod. Kapoor revealed that he and Anushka Sharma were going to protest against the show, reports Bollywood Hungama. He said, “I was forced this year (to be a part of KWK). I told him (Karan Johar) I don’t want to come. Me and Anushka were actually going to protest and bring the whole film industry together to stop this. Because it’s not fair as he’s making money out of us and we come and we get screwed through the year. And it’s not right.”

Kapoor also exposed how being friends with Johar and appearing on the show gets them into trouble. He said, “That’s the problem with KWK. Because you know him (Karan Johar) so well and he makes you so comfortable, so when you’re chatting with him you don’t realise that there are a billion people who are taking every word of yours so seriously that you’re going to get screwed.”

On the work front, Kapoor was recently seen in Anurag Basu’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ with Katrina Kaif. Meanwhile, he is currently in New York shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic.
