Ranbir Kapoor to go to jail for Sanjay Dutt biopic

Looks like Ranbir Kapoor is pulling out all the stops for his portrayal as Sanjay Dutt in the superstar’s biopic.  Having already gained weight for the role, Kapoor will now reportedly be staying in a jail to gain first hand experience.

The crew are currently in Bhopal and according to Hindustan Times, the talented actor will spend up to a week experiencing the trials and tribulations of prison life to fully portray the emotions of Dutt.   Dutt, who was jailed for possession of illegal arms, spent years in a Pune jail.

The biopic, being directed by Rajkumar Hirani, will focus on three phases of Dutt’s life and Kapoor is doing his utmost to ensure he can get into both the physical and mental demands of the role.

The film, which boasts of a stellar cast including Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor, is currently in shooting stage.
