Being the grandchild of Raj Kapoor, one can only imagine the sort of pressure Armaan Jain feels as the release of his debut film Lekar Hum Deewana Dil۪ is nearing. Most kids who have grown up in a film family would have been preparing themselves for years in advance. However, Armaan Jain was not quite ready when his debut film fell into his lap and his cousin, Ranbir Kapoor, had a long conversation with him to make him realise the importance and responsibility of an acting career in Bollywood.
Armaan was quite under-prepared to act in a film which reflected in his first few auditions. He was terrible! Not that he was incapable, he was just under confident, director Arif Ali revealed to Mumbai Mirror.
The director went on to say, Ranbir had a long conversation with Armaan and explained to him that the time of fun and games is over. It was one of those brotherly conversations۪ which sets you up for life. He told Armaan that we knew what we are doing. While we were willing to invest faith and money in him, he needs to perform. From the next day, Armaan was a transformed kid.
Though Kapoor۪s own debut film, Saawariya۪ (2007), did not live up to expectations at the box office, it did showcase him to be a talent to reckon with. As an actor he has always been known as someone who is extremely passionate about and committed to the movies.
Lekar Hum Deewana Dil۪ is slated for release on Friday 4th July 2014.
