Ramesh Sippy’s ‘Shimla Mirchi’ still faces delays?

Ramesh Sippy, known for making some iconic films, such as ‘Sholay’ (1975) and ‘Shaan’ (1980) is making plans for his comeback. ‘Shimla Mirchi’ has been in the news for some time but has been heavily delayed. Now, it’s emerged it’s still facing issues.

According to Mid-Day, Sippy started working on this film in 2015, but unfortunately the film still hasn’t been released, saying he’s waiting for Viacom to make release plans. “I am also waiting [for it to hit screens]. I have finished the film. Now it’s up to Viacom (the studio backing the movie) to make release plans.”

When asked whether the delay was because there were no investors to buy the film, Sippy denied all talks.  “That I cannot answer, because that’s not what I have been told. When I have the right answer, I will let you know.”

‘Shimla Mirchi’ was also set to be Hema Malini’s comeback film, with Rajkummar Rao also in a lead role.
