As reported by BizAsia last year, veteran director Ramesh Sippy, who has directed classics such as Seeta Aur Geeta۪ (1972) and Sholay۪ (1975), is returning to the job after a gap of 20 years. The filmmaker, who has now wrapped up the shooting of his comeback film, says he is inspired by Hollywood filmmaker Clint Eastwood.
Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Sippy said, I can۪t afford any more long breaks. What I want to do, I have to do in the next few years. Clint Eastwood who is still making films at 84 is an inspiration to the rest of us to continue.
Sippy had last directed the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Zamaana Deewana۪ (1995).
The director۪s comeback film, titled Shimla Mirchi۪, stars Hema Malini and Rajkummar Rao. It is expected to release later this year.
