Ram Gopal Varma’s brawl with Sanjay Dutt

Department
Sanjay Dutt & Ram Gopal Varma are at loggerheads due to the failure of 'Department'

Department۪ which released last week, and was consequently slammed by critics, seems to be amidst another controversy, with the filmmakers lashing out at each other in public. This time its Ram Gopal Verma (again) in a war of words with the film’s producer Sanjay Dutt.

Zee News reports thatboth Dutt and Verma have expressed their dislike for each other so much so, they even went on to say how they will never work with each other again.

Dutt commented; “Hits and flops are a part of the industry. But I really don’t know if I shall work with Ramu again.”

Varma, on his part hit back stating, “I don’t know what they are thinking and neither do I care… but from my side, I don’t want to see the faces of Sanjay Dutt and Dharam Oberoi for the rest of my life.” which confirms that both Dutt and Varma did indeed have several differences whilst the film was being made.

The brawl started when the producers of ‘Department’ disapproved of camera models, which escalated further when Varma refused to change the number of digital cameras being used for the film’s shoot.

When the speculation of these arguments came to light both Dutt and Verma, denied them dispelling them as merely hearsay. Now that the film has performed disastrously at the box office, it just seems like a case of sour grapes with neither party willing to accept responsibility for the film’s poor fate at the turnstiles.
