Rakesh Roshan irked about ‘Raees’ clash with ‘Kaabil’?

Rakesh Roshan

Excel Entertainment’s Ritesh Sidhwani confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees’ had been shifted to a 26th January 2017 release. This meant that it would no longer be clashing with ‘Sultan’ at Eid but also that it would be releasing on the same day as ‘Baadshaho’ and ‘Kaabil’. Producer of the latter, Rakesh Roshan, seems to have taken the decision badly and is pretty irked that the Rahul Dholakia directorial will be clashing with his film.

It’s thought that Sidhwani and Roshan spoke but the latter refused to move the release of his film to make way for ‘Raees’. A source spoke to Deccan Chronicle, “SRK and Hrithik had met to discuss the release, but ultimately, it۪s the call of the makers. Rakesh Roshan has decided to not shift the release date. But he is very upset that Raees is also releasing on the same date. He even called up Ritesh Sidhwani on Monday afternoon to express the same and on Tuesday when the announcement came in the newspapers, he was pretty irked”.

Roshan, however is also quoted as saying, “No one approached me, my release date was announced in February this year for 26th January 2017 and I am sticking to it. Who comes or who doesn۪t is not my problem”.

It remains to be seen whether any of the three films are moved to avoid the three-way clash.
