Rajoana hanging stay dominates news channels

NDTV 24×7 was one of the first channels in the UK to break the news about Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana’s hanging being temporarily suspended.

Sikh Channel and Sangat TV, which have been broadcasting continuous news and discussion shows for the past few days, were also amongst the first to break the news.

The news emerged at around 15:00 this afternoon that Rajoana’s hanging, which was scheduled to take place at Patiala Jail on Saturday (31st March), was stayed after the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal met President Pratibha Patil today.

Hindi news channels, Star News and Aaj Tak have been airing updates on the stay.
