Rajkummar Rao has been on an impressing streak it seems. His performances in his career so far certainly got the right people sitting up and taking notice of his talent. News now has it that the actor has caught Ramesh Sippy’s eye and that he will not be apart of what will be Sippy’s directorial comeback in Indian cinema.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, “Various names were considered for the role, including that of Pulkit Samrat. But after watching Queen, Mr. Sippy was so impressed with Rajkummar’s performance that he immediately got him on board. “It’s a sweet rom-com, a genre Rajkummar hasn’t dabbled in before. He’s very kicked about being directed by Mr Sippy being a self-confessed fan.” Set in a Northern hill station, the project is expected to take off in October this year.

Rao also spoke about his excitement about the project, “It’s an honour for me to get an opportunity to work with a legend like Mr. Sippy at this point in my career. I’ve been raised on a healthy diet of his films and I am prepared to dedicate myself completely to the role”.
