Rajkummar Rao pens own poem for next

Gearing up for his forthcoming film ‘Shaadi Mein Zarur Aana’, Rajkummar Rao has gone one step further making his role as believable as possible. The actor has reportedly penned his own poem for the film.

Marking the directorial debut of Anubhav Sinha’s wife Ratna, Mumbai Mirror reports the actor explaining, “There was a scene where my character is to recite a poem for Kriti’s (co-star Kriti Kharbanda) character. To make my lines more interesting, I wove them into a poem. It was an impromptu effort, written with the belief that the poem would help me connect with the lines better. And I think it worked out quite well for the character and the scene.”

Talking about the film, Rao explained, “It’s a journey of a commoner, a naive boy who becomes a headstrong, top-level government official after getting jilted in love.”

Talking about his character and Kharbanda’s, Rao went on to add, “How their paths cross and they find love together is the crux of the film.”

Produced by Vinod Bachchan, the film’s location will take place in Allahabad, Lucknow and Kanpur.
