Rajkummar Rao & Nargis Fakhri together in Hollywood project

BizAsia reported a while ago that Nargis Fakhri had signed her next Hollywood film, ‘5 Weddings’. Now, it appears that Rajkummar Rao will be joining her for the project.

Rao commented on how he was approached for the film, as quoted by DNA, ���Namrata saw some of my work on Netflix and other platforms following which the production house approached me to play the leading man, Harbhajan, who’s a cynical cop with Punjab Police”.

The actor also divulged details of his and Fakhri’s roles. “The cop is assigned to escort Nargis’s character, an Indian girl raised in the US who has come down to India to do a magazine feature on Indian weddings. What should have been a simple assignment turns complicated, thanks to Harbhajan, who is convinced it’s an espionage operation.”

The actor appears to be in high demand from the West, having recently worked with Hollywood actress Demi Moore in the soon to-be released ‘Love Sonia’.

As previously reported by BizAsia, ‘5 Weddings’ will be directed by filmmaker Namrata Singh Gujral and will also feature Golden Globe nominee and supermodel Bo Derek, and Oscar nominee Candy Clark.
