Rajkummar Rao elated after receiving praise from Amitabh Bachchan

Rajkummar Rao’s performance in ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ (2017) is continuing to bowl over audiences and one particular individual had a special message for the actor, which of course took Rao by surprise.

So who is this fan? Well, it’s none other than Amitabh Bachchan. Reported in The Indian Express, Big B penned a personal note to Rao expressing how much he enjoyed watching his performance in the film. The note read, “I got to see your film Bareilly Ki Barfi. It’s amazing, outstanding… I’ve been an admirer of your work for a long time, but your performance in this film was beautiful. All my best wishes, always. Loads of love, Amitabh Bachchan.”

In return Rao took to Twitter to express his gratitude. “When the legend sends you this handwritten note.. Thank you my dearest @SrBachchan sir. You’ve made my day. Much regards & charan sparsh ???”.

When asked about how he felt after receiving such encouraging words, Rao said, “I am elated getting this note from Bachchan sir. He has been my idol since childhood. My mother was his biggest fan and am sure today she would be the happiest. He has inspired generations, including me. This handwritten note is very encouraging. There is so much to learn from him.”

Bachchan also shared his account of the film on Twitter saying, “T 2530 – Saw ‘Bareilly ki Barfi’ last night .. a delightful film and such competent and excellent performances .. !!”
