Rajkumar Hirani who has just wrapped up the Sanjay Dutt biopic, is starting to look to his next film and it’s been rumoured that he has approached Varun Dhawan to play the lead. However, Hirani has cleared the speculation.

Reported on Bombay Times, apparently Hirani had originally narrated the script of his untitled next to Shah Rukh Khan, but it later emerged that he felt a younger face would suit the character, and this is where Dhawan comes into the picture. However Hirani denies all speculations, saying, “There is such thing I keep getting to know about all this through the press.”

Also it has been reported by a trade source, that Hirani will be on his own for his next, as his partner Vidhu Vinod Chopra has asked him to create his own path. “Since Hirani will be free in June after the release of Dutt, reports claim that he will be going solo this time, because Vidhu Vinod Chopra has asked him to create his own path now. The film, to star Varun, is being fine-tuned at the moment, and will go on floors in January next year, for a late 2019 release,” said the source.

Dhawan who is occupied with Shoojit Sircar’s ‘October’, which is slated to release on the 13th April, shared that he was under strict orders not train at the gym, “While shooting for ‘October’, Shoojit da didn’t let me work out for all of two months keeping the character’s requirements in mind. Now I’m dying to hit the gym and get back to my baniyan look.”
