Rajesh Khanna reunited with first love in last years

Those aware of the almost Bollywood-inspired tragic love story��between Rajesh Khanna and his ex Anju Mahendru, before he married��the very beautiful Dimpla Kapadia, will be happy to learn that the two were together in the last few years of Khanna’s life. It has emerged that Mahendru took care of Khanna during his illness.

Film-maker Mahesh Bhatt has reportedly revealed the sorry tale in the Times of India, “After I learnt of Khanna’s death through the media, I thought of Anju because I knew she would be affected by his death… I managed to reach her late at night and learnt that Khanna and Anju had got together in the last years of his life. She used to take care of his medical needs and even accompanied him to hospital.”

Bhatt also added, “It is really heartbreaking to see that she had to take a strange route to reconnect with her first love”.

It is almost heart-warming to know that Khanna and Mahendru almost got to know each other all over again and had a close relationship before his passing. It is thought Mahendru was also by his side in his last moments.
