Sunrise Radio's Breakfast show goes up in listenership

After a disastrous Q4/12, the Sunrise Radio Group in London has made certain amends in Q1/13 with flagship station Sunrise Radio’s Breakfast show attracting new listeners.

The ‘new’ Andy Gill, who started in January has helped the station give it the best listening figures for the Breakfast show in nine months. It pulled in 132,000 listeners during the quarter – it was up from 84,000 listeners in the previous quarter. It was close to the 158,000 listeners it attracted this time last year.

The Kismat Radio Breakfast show under the Radio Gujarat brand was up too from 16,000 listeners to 25,000 listeners. This time last year, the show had attracted 33,000 listeners.

Buzz Asia, which became Buzz Radio during this quarter saw many changes including the departure of its Breakfast presenter Doni Brasco. The show’s audience dwindled with just 24,000 listeners tuning into the station’s flagship show. It lost 16,000 listeners in the past three months.
