Popular Punjabi infotainment station, Panjab Radio has witnessed a steady increase in its audience, according to official data from RAJAR for Q2/16.

The station was up from 75,000 listeners in Q1/16 to 77,00 listeners in Q2/16. Further good news for the station was that it was listened to slightly longer – 5.0 hours than the previous 4.4 hours in Q1/16. It had longer listening hours than Sunrise Radio, which delivered 3.6 hours.

Panjab Radio’s figures do not include 1584AM North London or national DAB.

Surjit Singh Ghuman, Managing Director, Panjab Radio told BizAsiaLive.com, “Panjab Radio has had consistency results for the last four quarters, this clearly demonstrates Panjab Radio’s loyal listener base. It is to be noted that Panjab Radio data is for its DAB local and Sky not 1584AM.”

Other UK based Asian radio stations such as Radio XL in Birmingham, Sabras Radio in Leicester, Asian Sound in Manchester, Sunrise Radio FM in Yorkshire and other digital and community Asian radio stations do not subscribe to RAJAR. Panjab Radio National and Awesome Radio National also do not subscribe to RAJAR.
