Raja Krishna Menon to direct Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Chef’ remake?

Last year, it was confirmed in a statement that Saif Ali Khan would be starring in the Bollywood remake of Hollywood film ‘Chef’ (2014). Now, it’s being said that ‘Airlift’ (2015) director Raja Krishna Menon will quite likely be directing the film.

Absolute India report Menon confirming that he has been approached, “It�۪s in very early discussion and we have not closed it yet. I will take a call in next few weeks”.

He added that the film wouldn’t be an out-and-out remake if he was to direct, “I won�۪t remake film for sure or unless I won�۪t imagine any film and do it I won�۪t do it. I can�۪t copy any film. I will definitely change or make an adaptation. I am open to this idea.”

Talking about the possibility of working with Ali Khan, Menon commented, “I think Saif has done some phenomenal work from Dil Chahta Hai to Langda Tyagi in Omkara. He has evolved as an actor. It depends on the script and character whether we connect. If it works out, I think I will be excited to work with Saif”.

Eros International and Alumbra Entertainment have joined hands to make the remake.
