Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’ (2017) hasn’t really fared well but Saif Ali Khan’s performance has been one that many have liked. Director Raja Krishna Menon, who has directed Ali Khan in ‘Chef’, believes that his character in the forthcoming film will prove to turnaround the actor’s bad luck with films of late.
“He has really understood the character in all its complexities, and it shows. I feel Saif is fantastic in Chef, but I guess it’s for the audience to judge. Speaking for myself, I couldn’t be happier,” said Menon, according to Asian Age.
The film was touted as being a remake of Hollywood film of the same name. Menon elaborates, “It’s the story of a father-son relationship. Like in the original, Saif has a food truck. Our film borrows lightly in a few places. Other than that, it’s quite different from the original”.
