Raj TV denies “closure”; fresh shows on the way

Birmingham based Raj TV has denied that it is to cease operations. There has been speculation over the past few weeks that Raj TV was to be taken over by new management – the owners of fast food chain ‘Big Johns’.

In an email to BizAsia.co.uk, the channel has put these rumours to rest;

“I can confirm that there is no substance whatsoever to the rumours that our channel is being replaced by owners of “Big Johns” or indeed anyone else.

Whilst it is true that we are going through something of a temporary hiatus since moving premises last month, I can assure you and your concerned readers that normal service will be resumed as soon as possible and that we will be showing some fresh new programmes this autumn and winter.”

The Asian entertainment channel has been broadcasting on Sky Digital since last year and has been telecasting sports related and music based shows.

In an attempt to re-launch the channel, Raj TV will be introducing a fresh batch of shows this year.

Furthermore, there is speculation that ‘Big Johns’ are looking at launching a sports channel on Sky Digital soon. Meanwhile Raj TV can be viewed on Sky Digital EPG 187.
