Raj Kapoor’s wife Krishna Raj Kapoor passes away at 87

Krishna Raj Kapoor, has passed away at the age of 87 after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Krishna, was the wife of late superstar, Raj Kapoor and mother to Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor and daughters Rima Jain and Ritu Nana.

Randhir confirmed the news to agency PTI. He said, “My mother passed away at about 5 am today due to cardiac arrest… old age was another factor. We are deeply saddened by her demise.”

The last rites are expected to performed at Chembur Crematorium.

Incidentally, Rishi left for US on Sunday to undergo medical treatment. It is not yet known when he will return. Before leaving, he had tweeted, “Hello all! I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years “plus”of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes,I will be back soon!”
