Raj Babbar gets two-year jail sentence in 20-year old case

Veteran actor and politician Raj Babbar has been handed a two-year jail sentence in a 1996 case. He has been released on bail.

The former MP has also been fined Rs. 8,500 after being found guilty of “roughing” up a government officer during the 1996 Lok Sabha elections, according to PinkVilla.

At the time, Babbar was in the Samajwadi Party and was contesting the elections from Lucknow.

The incident is said to have occurred in May 1996.
