‘Raise The Roof’ event leaves audience with positive impact on their mental health & wellbeing

Rain Dance Colour Festival raised the roof to welcome in the new year at Manchester’s Opera House on Saturday 14th January 2023. BizAsia were partners of the event which included a star-studded line-up of global talent including social media DJ sensation AJ Wavy, the newest fusion artist Saloni, global fusion icons Arjun and Navin Kundra as well as an all singing and all dancing show stopping headline star performance from ‘King of Bhangra’ Malkit Singh MBE.

It was a night to remember, celebrating global music and dance including representing the ethnic diaspora, but at the heart of the show was raising awareness around mental health and wellbeing within the community. Music is my medication, is one of the slogans Rain Dance Colour Festival are promoting through their events, which rang true on Saturday night for a crowd filling the seats of historical Opera House in Manchester.

The live concert was supported by Manchester Mind, and the British Asian Trust, founded by the King, to promote the importance of mental health, with visuals displayed throughout the concert of wellbeing tips and inspirational quotes.

Live on the day audience research conducted by Rain Dance Colour received positive feedback stating that 100% of people that took part in the survey agreed that the concert had a positive impact on their mental health and wellbeing.

After the success of Rain Dance Colour Festival’s Global Countdown held traditionally globally on NYE, and the recent ‘Raise The Roof’ experience at Opera House in Manchester, they are now looking to tour ‘Raise The Roof’ in the UK, with shows in Liverpool, Birmingham and Leeds in discussion.
