Radio stations in India told to boycott Pakistani singer tracks

Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has asked radio stations in India to boycott music by Pakistani singers.

The news comes a day after MNS told music companies to stop showcasing Pakistani artists on their online channels.

Shalini Thackeray, the General Secretary of the party shared a letter on social media, which said, “The whole country is in mourning after this cowardly act by the Pakistani establishment which claimed the lives of our innocent soldiers and [we] want action. But these FM radio channels are busy playing the songs of Pakistani artists.”

The letter also references FM stations continuing to play artists like Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, as well as Ghulam Ali and Ali Zafar.
